An excessive and disproportionate focus on producing overly detailed and exhaustive documentation can create a significant and detrimental disconnect between Enterprise Architecture (EA) teams and the actual, constantly evolving and dynamic realities of the business environment in which they operate. This misalignment ultimately diminishes both the perceived and practical value of their work within the organization as a whole. Such an intense concentration on documentation often results in fewer actionable insights being generated, which in turn causes a noticeable reduction in the overall agility, flexibility, and responsiveness of the EA teams to changing business needs, conditions, and emerging challenge.
